About Me
I am the founder of FoodWise Psychology and a British Psychological Society-registered Chartered Psychologist (BPS registration number 342712).
I am not a therapist or a practitioner psychologist, but I’m an experienced educator and intervention developer who has spent years turning psychological research into practical support. My credentials include a degree in Psychology, an MSc in Health Psychology, and a PhD in health psychology. I have clinical experience delivering non-governed therapy within in-patient mental health settings. My doctoral work was focused on intervention development for weight cycling. I am also a "wounded healer", apart from professional expertise, I bring a wealth of lived experience to this service. This means that I have not just studied the problem at hand, I have lived it myself.
In 2023 I decided to set up the service that I have always needed for myself. After a couple of years of careful planning and research, FoodWise Psychology was born. I believe that effective helping relationships are built on trust, empathy, and evidence-based practices. True support starts with the person, not the problem, identity and dignity come before issues, circumstances, and challenges.

My combined academic knowledge and personal journey allow me to connect with clients on a deeper level while maintaining professional boundaries and standards. I maintain full indemnity insurance and conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure a safe environment for all clients.
